Domestic wastewater treatment plants

The domestic wastewater treatment plants made by UAB “Buiteka LT” are meant to treat domestic wastewater of private houses, cafés, group of houses, villages and towns.

All the devices manufactured in the company are made from glass fibre. Glass fibre is resistant to mechanical impacts and corrosion. It is used to make light, strong and durable containers of treatment plants and they do not have any details that should be maintained or replaced. They are easy to transport, carry and install in the most convenient location.
Characteristics of offered treatment plants:
  • the plants are not harmful because of aerobic microorganisms;
  • they are ecological;
  • the plants are working silently because they have no moving parts;
  • all the main (internal and external) constructional elements made from glass fibre are durable and resistant to corrosion;
  • they decompose pollutants of wastewater biologically, do not emit unpleasant smell, and treated wastewater are harmless and odourless.
The company guarantees defect-free quality of any treatment plant for 10 years after the conveyance-acceptance deed is signed; the guarantee of 1 year is granted for electrical part.

Operation principle and construction

The biological wastewater treatment plant is aerotank according to its operation principle. It is a precipitator with natural recirculation of active silt that is guaranteed by special solutions approved in practice.
Wastewater gets to the plant’s aeration part through the supply pipe, where biological wastewater treatment is done in the course of intensive aeration and mixing: organic pollutants ate decomposed into simpler chemical compounds that are oxidized to carbon dioxide and water.
The residual pollution of wastewater consists of organic substances that are more difficult to decompose after the treatment. The treated wastewater is in compliance with norms of the Wastewater Treatment Regulation approved by Order No. D1-236 of the Minister of Environment on 17 May 2006.
The mixture of wastewater and active silt flows from the aeration unit by the horizontal pouring edge into the secondary precipitator, where active silt settles on the lower part and continues sliding to the bottom of aeration container in presence of special flow direction. Silt is lifted from the bottom by air flow and it is mixed in the aeration container. The treated wastewater clarified in the precipitator leaks over the indented edge, gets into the circular duct and leaves the plant by discharge pipes.
The plant is made from two concentrically installed containers in the form of cone. They are made from glass fibre. The internal unit is aerotank, and the external – secondary precipitator. Organic pollutants present in wastewater are decomposed with the help of active silt that is moving freely or attached to biocharge. Air blower supplies compressed air necessary to maintain oxygen concentration. Its placement and aeration mode are decided in each particular case, with regard to particular conditions. The excessive silt is removed by mobile exhaustion means. The treated wastewater is collected from the secondary precipitator by circular duct and is directed to the place of discharge through a pipe.
Part of active silt “adheres” to special biocharge in the centre of aerotank, and as the result, the set load of active silt is reached faster. The hazard of taking the active silt out is reduced when the wastewater yield increases (hydraulic load).
The plant is adjusted for use in soils, where water-table is below 1,8 m from the earth surface, while the depth of inflow pipe is not lower than 1,2 m. Under such conditions, it is necessary to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations provided in the operation instruction of wastewater treatment plants.

Operation

In order to safeguard successful operation of the device, pH of wastewater that gets into the treatment plant has to be within 6,5-8,5, so, big amounts of alkaline and acid chemicals, solvents and other chemical substances cannot enter the plant.
It is prohibited:
  • to pour chemicals and bioproducts;
  • to connect wastewater generated in the process of regeneration (washing) of water softening and de-ironing filters to the plant;
  • to connect wastewater generated in condensation boilers;
  • to connect wastewater generated in water pools, tubs and other large containers;
  • to connect surface (rain) wastewater;
  • to throw or pour such waste into closer, sink or treatment plant that could jam pipes and/or obstruct operation of the entire system (potato jackets, large waste of vegetables and fruit, paper, except for toilet paper, rags, etc.);
  • to pour edible oil and other fats from fryers or pans in big amounts.
If a wastewater treatment plant is not used, it cannot be left empty!
