Although compensation for wastewater treatment systems has been provided for several years, the company UAB Buiteka’s partner, “MB Digetra,” notes that residents still lack information and reminders about the annual opportunity to submit applications and partially recover their financial expenses.
According to the Radviliškis District Municipality Administration, residents of the district can submit applications from April 1, 2023, until the first day of November.
Support can be obtained.
According to the Radviliškis District Municipality Administration, “In 2022, 85 applications for compensation were received, and €50,400 in funding was allocated and paid out. Only one applicant, who did not meet the conditions of the description (was not registered in the Radviliškis District Municipality), did not receive compensation. Wastewater treatment systems installed in gardens and garden associations are also reimbursed. This year, €60,000 has been allocated in the municipal budget for these compensations. The support applies only to the management of household-generated wastewater.”
Residents of the Radviliškis District have the opportunity to receive €600 in financial support from the district municipality for the installed wastewater treatment system, and €350 for a wastewater pumping reservoir.
Financial support is also provided to each applicant of a two-apartment to eight-apartment building for the installed shared wastewater treatment systems.
Compensation for the installed individual wastewater treatment system or wastewater pumping reservoir can be obtained when there is no technical possibility to connect to centralized sewage networks, the place of residence is declared in the Radviliškis District Municipality, the construction work of the system has been completed, and the necessary documents have been submitted.
It is important to choose a company.
Thanks to wastewater treatment systems, even the owners of the most remote homes in the district can access household conveniences: a toilet installed in the house instead of an outdoor “outhouse,” washing in a shower or bathtub instead of a basin, and laundry done in an automatic washing machine
“If residents are hesitant, the partial compensation provided by the Radviliškis District Municipality is a great incentive to install them, and UAB Buiteka’s partner, MB ‘Digetra’—a company that has been installing wastewater treatment systems for over ten years—will carry out all necessary work,” said Kristina Labanauskienė, director of MB ‘Digetra.’ “There is a wide range of wastewater treatment systems available in Lithuania, so it is not easy for people to choose. It is much easier to make decisions when you know where to start. We recommend starting with a consultation with a specialist, and even better, consulting with a specialist on-site.”
The employees of MB “Digetra,” who have extensive work experience, come to the resident’s plot, assess the actual situation and needs, accurately calculate the installation estimate, and provide answers to important questions. They advise on which engineering solutions are suitable for the individual case to meet environmental and construction requirements.
“We explain how the treatment system works and how to maintain it for proper functioning. Of course, it is also possible to install a wastewater pumping reservoir, but for a larger family, frequent pumping will be necessary. The costs of wastewater removal services are also rising, so a more economical solution for families is an individual wastewater treatment system. According to wastewater management regulations, we install a treatment system with a capacity of no less than 0.8 cubic meters for residential houses,” said K. Labanauskienė.
No construction permit is needed.
After completing the installation of the wastewater treatment system, we provide the client with the following documents required to submit with the application: the equipment transfer (commissioning) report; the declaration of operational characteristics/technical passport/EU compliance declaration; the invoice for the equipment and installation work, the payment confirmation document for the equipment, and the work completion report.
The client only needs to take care of the remaining document copies: an extract from the central database of the real estate register regarding the registered ownership of the land plot; if the land plot belongs to more than one owner, the consent(s) of the other owner(s) stating that they do not oppose the planned work; the consent of the National Land Service for the planned work (applicable for rented land).
“It is important to note that when submitting an application, a construction permit is no longer required if the location where the system is installed is not included in the designated exceptional areas where permits are needed,” said K. Labanauskienė.
Residents of the Radviliškis District who plan to install wastewater treatment systems or wastewater pumping reservoirs by December 1 of this year can submit applications to the district municipality after completing the installation work. Documents should be submitted to the Investment and Property Management Department of the Radviliškis District Municipality Administration (Room 216, Aušros St. 10, Radviliškis; phone: +370 422 69016) or sent by mail or email. The application form and detailed information about partial compensation for wastewater treatment systems can be found on the Radviliškis District Municipality’s website. https://radviliskis.lt/nuoteku-tvarkymas.
